I aggressively collected geocoins from May 2006 through to the end of 2008. Presented here are 986 of the approximately 1,040 geocoins I acquired during the frenzy.

Erik88L-R

Erik88L-R is the geocacher formerly known as ~erik~ (both names are shown on this personal geocoin) and he has been geocaching pretty much from the very beginning. Erik's personal geocaching philosophy is right there on his geocoin: "Seek Quality, not Quantity". That's the way I like it, but for too many cachers the numbers game is the driving force behind the game. (Which has helped drive the profusion of garbage geocache placements.)

Taking a look at Erik's statistics page, you can see his philosophy in action. From his first find in February 2001, up to December 2012, his annual finds range from around 100 to less than 400 at the maximum. The only thing I can think of that would keep a geocacher going that long is the quality of the adventure.

The earliest release I could find for this geocoin is March 2008.
