I aggressively collected geocoins from May 2006 through to the end of 2008. Presented here are 986 of the approximately 1,040 geocoins I acquired during the frenzy.

DRunners Come Together

DRunners Come Together

An interesting personal geocoin from DRunners from N49° 55.900 E07° 51.663 (Germany, west of Frankfurt and south of the Rhein).

This is really two geocoins in one, each with its own tracking code and icon. The geocoin celebrates Albert Einstein whose equations are at work in every communication satellite including the GPS system. And on the other piece is American physicist Ivan Getting who is credited (along with Bradford Parkinson) with the development of the Global Positioning System.

Size: 44 mm
