I aggressively collected geocoins from May 2006 through to the end of 2008. Presented here are 986 of the approximately 1,040 geocoins I acquired during the frenzy.

Canadian Arctic

Canadian Arctic

Treasure the Canadian Arctic. Perhaps a reference to the need to protect a part of Canada. Not only environmentally, but from other nations -- such as our best friend and neighbour -- who challenge Canada's sovereignty over this part of our country.

This geocoin was issued by prolific Canadian geocacher dex4 from Burlington, Ontario.

I do not know what the polar bear crest is on the obverse. (I assume that is the obverse?)

The crest on the reverse is that of Canadian Forces Station Alert, on the northern tip of Ellesmere Island. This is the most northern permanently inhabited settlement on earth.

An all-around attractive geocoin.
